GTA 6 could become the most expensive game in history. A new report has reported on its possible budget: 2 billion dollars, which makes it the most expensive in history.
GTA V does not stop selling despite the fact that it is close to turning 10 years old. We've been running GTA V and GTA Online for almost a decade, so the eagerness for Rockstar announce GTA 6 is more than understandable. Everything indicates that it will be a huge game and we have more and more certainties.
While it's true that the GTA 6 has caused quite a stir and revealed some features that still have a few coats of paint left, Rockstar is probably one of the biggest games ever.
A recent report from the data collected by the massive hack that has been revealing game data ensures that Take-Two Interactive may have allocated a maximum budget of 2 billion dollars for Grand Theft Auto 6.
The hacker known as "teapotuberhacker", apparently, has talked with other hackers about the data stolen from Rockstar and claims that the company would have spent up to 2.5 billion dollars on GTA VI.
Of course, this is a huge amount of money that would break any record in terms of development budget. Basically, GTA VI would become the most expensive game ever and one of the biggest budget entertainment products.
GTA 6 could have more than four times the budget of GTA V
To give you an idea of the magnitude of this outlay... GTA V had a budget of 265 million dollars at the time.
With over 170 million units sold, it was noted earlier in the year that GTA V had recorded $1 billion in sales revenue and $6 billion in total sales since its release in 2013.
Of course, the GTA VI budget is not 100% confirmed information, so nothing can be given as something safe and official. It will probably take us a few years to know how much GTA 6 has cost after this massive hack .
