Layanan telemedisin di Indonesia telah menjadi tren di masyarakat dan diyakini akan terus berkembang di masa depan
Survei Deloitte: Layanan Telemedisin akan Terus Dimanfaatkan 98% Pengguna

Telemedicine services in Indonesia have become a trend in society and are believed to continue to grow in the future. In response to this trend, Deloitte published a health digital service survey report published in the publication Digitising Indonesia's Health Care Sector. The survey found that 98% of users will continue to use telemedicine services in the future.

Life Science and Healthcare Industry Leader, Deloitte Indonesia, Steve Aditya conveyed the purpose of this survey to dig deeper and understand the perceptions of stakeholders in the digital health service sector in Indonesia for the development of telemedicine. "Therefore, the respondents to this survey include users and health workers in Indonesia," Steve Aditya said in a press statement quoted on Saturday (3/9/2022).

The survey for users was conducted on 224 respondents. In this Deloitte Indonesia survey, it was revealed that the majority of telemedicine users were satisfied with the services provided. Around 57% of respondents are satisfied with telemedicine services and almost all respondents or around 98% stated that they will continue to use telemedicine services in the future, and about 38% of respondents believe that telemedicine services can replace at least a quarter of their visits to hospitals.

"These findings reveal that there are still opportunities for telemedicine development in Indonesia and also businesses in this field," said Steve, providing an analysis of the survey results. In addition to surveys for users, a survey for health workers was also conducted and attended by 30 health workers.

The results of this survey revealed that a small percentage or as many as 27.8% of respondents felt confident in using telemedicine in their work. Meanwhile, 38,80% felt less confident due to the quality of the equipment. Respondents of health workers emphasized the importance of developing digital health technology and telecommunications infrastructure, as well as an integrated health information system in realizing more optimal telemedicine services. Another aspect that is also a concern is the legal umbrella which is expected to better accommodate the needs of the community and also provide an umbrella for health practitioners.

In the future, telemedicine services can also be integrated with bio-genomics technology (bio-genomics). This technology has the opportunity to provide health services and treatment that are more in line with the needs of each patient. Coupled with the support of the EMR/HER system it will allow the exchange of data between different healthcare systems and patients.

To support digital health technology services, the government is implementing the Palapa Ring Project which is building a national fiber optic network of more than 35,000 km of submarine cable and more than 21 km of cable on land to provide 4G networks in 34 provinces and 440 cities and districts, and in 2025 will start 5G network throughout Indonesia. The development of this infrastructure is very important for the provision of digital health services in Indonesia.

Technology Media and Telecommunications Industry Leader, Deloitte Indonesia, Brian Indradjaja said, "Infrastructure development both telecommunications and distribution and logistics networks is very important to support digital health services today and in the future, to ensure the speed of delivery of medicines and diagnostic tools so that samples diagnostic tests sent to the laboratory have a good shelf-life.

"With the development of telemedicine and the availability of better quality infrastructure, it is hoped that all Indonesian people can enjoy digital health services more evenly so that it supports the nation's productivity," concluded Brian.
