Handojo Santosa, Late President Director of Japfa Cypriot Citizen

PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JPFA) is grieving the passing of Handojo Santosa, who served as President Director of Japfa on Sunday, September 25, 2022 yesterday.

Based on Japfa's official website, Handojo is a Cypriot citizen, 58 years old and domiciled in Singapore. In 1997, Handojo was appointed as President Director of the Company, based on the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. Handojo is responsible for leading all strategic and operational activities of the Company.

Handojo joined Japfa in 1986 as a manager in the Vegetable Oil Division in Tanjung Perak, Surabaya and is responsible for the daily operations of the division. From 1989 to 1997, Handojo served as Vice President Director of the Company. 

Handojo Santosa is the majority owner of Singapore-registered Japfa, which indirectly runs the food business. Handojo's father, the late tycoon Ferry Teguh Santosa, founded the diversified Ometra group in Indonesia in 1959.

The group went bankrupt during the 1997 financial crisis. Handojo, who focused on Japfa Comfeed, managed to survive the crisis. In 2014, he listed Japfa's shares in Singapore, making Japfa Comfeed in Indonesia a subsidiary. Handojo Santosa has a net worth of US$ 735 million or around Rp 11 trillion in 2020, making him the 38th richest person in Indonesia.

Japfa itself currently produces various protein products ranging from food and milk. In Indonesia, Japfa sells milk under the Greenfields brand. The company is also a food producer with the main brands So Good, So Nice, and Real Good.
