Meanwhile, the T-50i Golden Eagle, which crashed during the 2015 Aerospace Festival at Yogyakarta's Adisutjipto Airfield, was purchased in 2013.

"This plane was made by South Korea, which came to Indonesia in 2013. This plane is relatively new," said Head of the Air Force Information Service at the time, First Marshal of the TNI Dwi Badarmanto.

He explained that the training fighter aircraft was a South Korean manufacturer of Korean Aero Industries (KAI), which was strengthening the 15th Air Squadron at the Iswahjudi Madiun Air Base.
