Euronet Collaborates with NFC Indonesia (NFCX) Presents Netflix Prepaid Voucher at Alfamart (AMRT)

PT Abdi Anugerah Persada (AAP), a subsidiary of PT NFC Indonesia Tbk (NFCX) - MCAS Group in collaboration with Euronet, a subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (EEFT) in the distribution of the first Netflix voucher in Indonesia through PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) or Alfamart.

Through this partnership, consumers can purchase prepaid Netflix vouchers through the nearest Alfamart using printed receipts, making buying and exchanging Netflix content much more accessible.

Netflix itself is a popular subscription-based streaming service that allows subscribers to watch TV shows and movies without ads on devices connected to the Internet. According to the Statista report, Netflix had 213.56 million subscribers worldwide in the third quarter of 2021. This number increased 9.4% compared to the same period last year (year-on-year) of 195.15 million subscribers, with as many as 30.05 million customers in the Asia Pacific region. Netflix subscribers are reported to have increased significantly, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, given the imposition of social restrictions that have caused people to spend a lot of time at home and watch streaming videos. 

The Netflix vouchers available at Alfamart consist of 4 types of vouchers for Rp. 54,000, Rp. 120,000, Rp. 153,000, and Rp. 186,000. Based on a survey by Media Partners Asia (KKP), Netflix subscribers in Indonesia as of January 2021 only amounted to 850,000. This new payment method using digital vouchers will certainly be a big potential for the growth of Netflix subscribers in Indonesia. This payment method is also targeted to reach 51% of the Indonesian population who are in the unbanked category by 2021 based on Statista.

"The collaboration with Netflix certainly produces attractive and up-to-date digital products for our customers. With the print on receipt , customers can purchase various types of Netflix vouchers at Alfamart and make redemptions on their Netflix account easily, quickly and conveniently. Alfamart has more than 17,000 outlets throughout Indonesia, with customer profiles mostly still using cash payments. This will be a very strong touchpoint for Netflix to reach new customer segments," said Alfamart Marketing Director Ryan Alfons Kaloh in an official statement, Monday ( 4/7/2022).

Netflix vouchers are distributed in Indonesia through a strategic partnership between Euronet Worldwide and AAP. AAP is an aggregator of digital products and has collaborated with Alfamart in distributing various variations of digital products in Indonesia. Euronet Worldwide is a global technology company that compiles and distributes global content including Netflix, Sony Playstation, Microsoft Xbox and many others.

With its current focus on Asia Pacific, particularly Indonesia, Euronet is releasing prepaid Netflix vouchers to the Indonesian market through Alfamart. This is a new initiative for a Netflix subscription payment method in the form of the first voucher in Indonesia.
