Dan Ives, head of popular analyst group Wedbush Securities, said the price hike was driven by supply chain prices. "We believe a $100 price increase will come for the iPhone 14," he said, quoted from Forbes, Tuesday (19/7/2022).
"Prices have been increasing across the supply chain, and Cupertino (where Apple's headquarters are located) needs to pass these costs on to consumers as of this release."
iPhone 14 will likely launch as many as four models, but without a mini version. There will be iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
