Saudi Arabia Opens Hajj, BCA (BBCA) Subsidiary Joins in Profit

As for March 2022, said Pranata, a subsidiary of BCA (BBCA), namely BCA Syariah, recorded a growth of 19 percent of managed hajj funds with account growth of 17 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

PT Bank BCA Syariah noted hajj funds grew 19 percent in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period last year. One of the reasons for this growth is the Saudi Arabian government's policy of reopening the pilgrimage this year.

Director of BCA Syariah Pranata said BCA Syariah welcomed the Saudi Arabian government's policy to reopen the hajj pilgrimage, in line with the increasingly controlled Covid-19.

"We are optimistic that this can encourage public interest in using services related to hajj and umrah, such as savings for preparation for worship fees and services for depositing hajj fees," Pranata said to The Newbie, Saturday (4/6). 

Pranata said that in addition to providing services at 73 BCA Syariah branches, through synergy with BCA's parent company, the company also provides convenience for people who want to make a deposit for Hajj pilgrimage fees through 100 Sharia Commercial Bank Services located at BCA branches located in Greater Jakarta, Central Java, Java. East and West Java.

As for March 2022, said Pranata, BCA Syariah recorded a 19 percent growth in managed pilgrimage funds with account growth of 17 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

BCA Syariah has also been re-elected as the Recipient Bank for Hajj Organizing Fee Deposits (BPS-BPIH) for the period 2021-2024.

It should be noted that throughout 2021, BCA Syariah recorded a profit before tax of Rp. 107.5 billion, an increase of 16.1 percent on an annual basis (year-on-year/yoy). Meanwhile, BCA Syariah assets grew 9.5 percent yoy from Rp9.7 trillion to Rp10.6 trillion last year.

The increase in BCA Syariah assets in 2021 was driven by growth in deposits which reached Rp7.7 trillion, or an increase of 12.1 percent yoy compared to December 2020.
