Apple is predicted to launch the iPhone 14 series at the Apple Event later this year.
The iPhone 14 series will certainly bring a number of feature and specification updates.
Based on the latest reports, Apple will bring the Always-On Display (AOD) feature on the iPhone 14 Pro .
The Always-On Display feature allows the iPhone 14 Pro screen to stay on with minimal power consumption.
Through this feature, users can customize the screen to display the date, time, battery status, screensaver, etc. continuously without fear of running out of battery quickly.
Reporting from MacRumors, the iPhone 14 Pro will adopt ProMotion technology with extended refresh rate variability.
With the expansion of the refresh rates variability, the iPhone 14 Pro is able to drop to the same 1Hz - 120Hz level as the Samsung and Oppo screens.
A refresh rate of 1Hz is required so that the iPhone can continue to display the screen on with a longer battery life when the AOD feature is enabled.
The refresh rate variability on the iPhone 14 Pro is wider than the iPhone 13 which is only able to minimize refresh rates at the 10Hz level.
The limitation of the minimum refresh rate on the iPhone 13 Pro means that the device still does not support the AOD feature.
If this news is true, the iPhone 14 Pro will be Apple's first iPhone device that supports the Always-On Display .
The Always-On Display feature itself was first released by LG in 2015 on the LG G5 smartphone.
Then, Samsung also introduced the Always-On Display feature in 2016 through the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices.

The advantage offered by the Always-On Display feature is that users can view widgets, battery status, screensavers, and notifications without having to unlock or press the smartphone's power button.
Always-On Display for some users is also considered more elegant because it is able to display the screensaver continuously.
