BRI also continues to urge its customers to always be careful of these various modes of banking crime.

BRI's Corporate Secretary Aestika Oryza Gunarto appealed to customers to protect personal data so that it is not controlled by anyone. Avoid picking up calls from suspicious phone numbers. Customers should only pick up from the official BRI 14017 call center.

Customers need to be aware of notifications from unknown sources. Avoid clicking links from unknown SMS, email and social media to prevent hacking .

According to Aestika, customers should not open up opportunities for perpetrators to communicate and carry out their actions.

"BRI continues to urge all customers to always be careful in carrying out various financial transactions by not informing the confidentiality of personal data and banking data to other people or parties on behalf of the bank," he said, Saturday (21/5).

Banking data such as account numbers, Personal Identification Number (PIN), internet banking users and passwords, One Time Password (OTP), and others must be kept confidential by customers.

More protection efforts can be carried out by customers by periodically changing PINs and passwords to avoid burglary practices by irresponsible people.

“Customers are expected not to disclose information that can give access to accounts, such as passwords and PINs. Customers are obliged to keep it a secret from anyone, including family, relatives, and bank officers," said Aestika.
