Instagram users will be able to customize feeds through these three options

Instagram has changed its application settings, so that users or users see the order of feeds or timelines based on an algorithm.

This sometimes makes the user a bit annoyed because we do n't always see the latest posts. Now, Instagram is changing settings feed so that users can customize it according to their individual preferences.

As reported by Android Central, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri announced that Instagram is planning to return to using chronological feeds. The chronological feed won't be exactly what it used to be, though. Instead, Instagram wants to provide a more up-to-date chronological feed.

Users will be given the freedom to customize the appearance of the timeline. Later there will be three choices of views provided by Instagram.

First, there is the Home option. This option will display the same feed as the current condition, where our feed display appears based on algorithm calculations automatically. Whatever we find interesting and we access often, that's what will appear in the feed.

Second, there is the Favorites option. Here, users can set feeds to prioritize views from our favorite accounts. So, we will not miss a single post from that account.

Third, there is the Following option. Now, in this option, our feed display will focus on the accounts that we really follow or follow. So, Instagram will not display foreign accounts that we don't follow or we never visit.

This change was made following the rising issue of detrimental effects on adolescents. It was once believed that diverse and random feeds actually made teenagers' mental health worse because they saw the world outside the environment they knew. Instagram was summoned by the United States Senate to address this issue and reduce the negative impact on adolescent mental health.

Mosseri said that this change is expected to minimize the bad effects of the Instagram algorithm on the mental health of its users. In addition, Instagram has also launched a 'Take A Break' feature which reminds users to take a break if they have been playing Instagram for too long. (*)
