Lee Je Hoon as a North Korean soldier who dreams of living in South Korea in Escape

 


The story set in the conflict between North Korea and South Korea seems to be South Korea's favorite theme. This time, it was Lee Je Hoon's turn to play a North Korean soldier in a film called Escape .

Reporting from Soompi, Escape tells the story of the other side of the barbed wire fence in the Demilitarized Zone. Escape depicts the runaway North Korean soldier Gyu Nam (Lee Je Hoon), who dreams of starting a new life in South Korea. The reason, his future in North Korea has been decided. He has to deal with Hyun Sang (Goo Kyo Hwan), a security team officer who does everything he can to stop him.

Film Escape will focus on the North Korean Demilitarized Zone and their military units. Escape also wants to capture the complex emotions between someone fleeing and his pursuer. Escape also promises a tense chase.

This is Lee Je Hoon and Goo Kyo Hwan's first film. Previously, Lee Je Hoon had expressed his desire to work with Goo Kyo Hwan. In fact, the two showed off their 'fingers of the heart' at each other at the 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The film is directed by Lee Jong Pil, the man behind Samjin Company English Class and The Sound of a Flower . Escape will be produced by a company that is familiar to Lee Je Hoon, namely The LAMP Ltd.. They previously produced Taxi Driver , Mal. Mo. E – The Secret Mission , and Samjin Company English Class .

Escape will start shooting in the early half of 2022. (*)
