AirAsia Makes Digital Wallet, When to Enter Indonesia?

AirAsia SuperApp launched a digital wallet called AirAsia Pocket.


AirAsia SuperApp launched a digital wallet service or e-wallet called AirAsia Pocket. AirAsia Pocket is partnering with Malaysian fintech startup Fass Payment Solutions (Fasspay).

Reporting from digitalnews.asia , AirAsia said that with e-wallet , users get AirAsia points upon activation, get 10 percent discount on AirAsia flights and 10x airasia points for every AirAsia food order on weekends.

According to AirAsia SuperApp, the AirAsia Pocket feature was developed by Fass Payment Solutions Sdn Bhd (Fasspay), a white-label e-wallet provider e-money approved by Bank Negara Malaysia. 

AirAsia said AirAsia Pocket was designed to enable its partners to build and innovate on the full-stack Fasspay and offer a wide range of payment and financial services to their customers, the company said.

AirAsia SuperApp Chief Fintech Officer Mohammad Hafid Mohd Fadzil said as financial technologies and digital banks continue to reshape the financial landscape in Malaysia and across Asean.

AirAsia SuperApp is committed to continuing to be an industry disruptor and expanding its fintech services that enable app users to make faster payments for products and services within the Super App ecosystem. 

Reporting from Lowyat.net, AirAsia SuperApp Chief Executive Officer Amanda Woo said AirAsia plans to launch AirAsia Pocket in Thailand around the fourth quarter of this year before bringing it to Indonesia next year to be precise in the second quarter of 2023.

SuperApp will also bring Pocket to the Philippines in the last quarter of 2023.
