Everyone has their own way of dealing with problems, including BTS's V. If we are Netflix and chill people , then V prefers to make songs.
Unmitigated. Now, the name V BTS is included in 15 songs registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
"When something is bothering me, I stay focused and try to get through it. For example, if I immerse myself in an emotion, I make a song about it. Whether the song turns out to be good or not, (what matters) one song is done. That sense of accomplishment help relieve my pain and problems," said the man whose real name is Kim Taehyung in an interview with Vogue.
He admits that the songs he composes are inspired by everyday life. Even at a time when V doesn't go anywhere or there are no special situations, V tries to think that his daily life is special. However, recently V began to get inspiration from other sources.
"Lately I get a lot of inspiration from other people's projects. Yesterday, I watched Forrest Gump for the first time in a long time, and I cried a little. At the end, the main character says, 'I don't know if we have a destiny, or we're all just drifting by accident like a breeze,' and that's sad."
The quote from Forrest Gump's dialogue he brought to his thoughts about the success of BTS. According to him, he also believes in fate. However, he is not sure that if V turns back time, he will become a singer again.
"I also believe in destiny. However, would I be the singer I am today if I reversed time? Maybe that's not the case. That's why I think all of this is luck like a breeze," he said.
BTS is the turning point of his life. He said that his first turning point was when he met the BTS members. While the second turning point is their joint debut.
"Because we started as a small company, something solid within us was formed. My way of thinking has also changed a lot. From those days, I considered the members as my other family," he explained.
V's dream of becoming a singer seems to have been clearly dictated, even when he was still in elementary school. He also had time to hear doubts from the people around him.
"I wrote that my dream future job was to be a singer since I was in elementary school, but no one took me seriously. They said, 'How did you become a singer?' Even so, BTS is a team that makes that dream come true."
He also does not agree with the notion that one cannot make a career through something that one likes to do every day. It should just be a hobby.
"But, I don't think so. Because I'm doing something I really like, I practice when I feel like I'm lacking, and I grow again through it. Furthermore, I do something I love, but people like to see it. I think it's a meaningful piece of work."
The full interview of V and other BTS members will be aired in the January 2022 issue of Vogue Korea magazine. (*)
