Apple is actively recruiting personnel to prepare for the opening of the first Apple Store in Malaysia, increasing its presence in Southeast Asia.
Specifically, the positions being recruited by the company include store managers, sales specialists, technical specialists, sales and support staff. This shows that the company is looking for locations to open retail stores directly instead of authorized dealers or serving online stores.
This is a move that shows that Apple is increasingly interested in the Southeast Asian market when it previously opened Apple Stores in Thailand and Singapore.
Apple's job announcement does not include details about the location of the work, but Bloomberg believes that this Apple Store will most likely open in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.
Apple does not disclose revenue by country, but it did collect more than $29 billion from the Asia-Pacific market, excluding mainland China and Japan, in the most recent fiscal year.
Apple currently has more than 500 Apple Stores worldwide, most of which are located in the US. The nearest store outside the US that the airline opened was in Bangkok (Thailand) in 2018.
