The Record Breaker

Erling Haaland is believed to be a man who breaks all records in the Premier League. Yesterday (1/9) alone, Erling Haaland , the 22-year-old striker set two new records when Manchester City thrashed Nottingham Forest 6-0 in week five of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester.

Erling Haaland only needed 38 minutes to pack a hat trick against the promoted team.

It became the second hat-trick in a row after previously being packed against Crystal Palace four days ago.

He has also scored three goals in three matches.

In total, the Norwegian striker has collected nine goals from the first five matches.

It was a new record in the Premier League since the competition was renamed in 1992.

Another record is, Haaland was listed as the most productive player in the Premier League in August with nine goals.

No other player in Premier League history has been more prolific than him in that August era.

And, this is just the beginning.  Two former England strikers, Michael Owen and Gary Lineker believe, Haaland will wipe out all records related to goals in the Premier League.

"I repeat; this guy is going to break every goal record. He's too big, too quick, clinical in front of goal and he's playing in a team that creates dozens of chances. All he needs to do is stay fit. #Haaland'," he wrote. Owen on his twitter account.

Lineker was also amazed by the striker's sharpness.  "Gosh, @ErlingHaaland has scored a hat trick in the last 2 rounds of football he has played. Crazy!," he wrote.

Coach Pep Guardiola made two crucial changes for this week's fifth game.  Ilkay Gundogan and Julian Alvarez came on for Kevin de Bruyne, and Riyad Mahrez was rested on the bench.

It is also a good opportunity for Guardiola to see Alvarez together with Haaland for his first start in the Premier League.

And they work well together, assisted by Phil Foden who is also brilliant on the left side of The Citizens attack.

Haaland's hat-trick started in the 12th minute.  Starting from a corner kick ball received by Foden.  He then sent a pass in front of goal, was met by a perfect flick by Haaland through his feet.

Eleven minutes later, Haaland's second goal was created.  Starting from a beautiful one-two with Foden, Haaland fired home a right-footed shot that found the net for Dean Henderson.

And the 38th minute, a perfect hat trick was created.

Starting from Joao Cancelo's cross to the right side of the Nottingham goal which Foden headed to the opposite side.  Greeted again with a header by Stone.

And Haaland took advantage of his tall posture to head the ball back into the Forest goal.  Perfect hattrick, left foot, right foot and head!  "It doesn't get any better than this," Haaland wrote on Twitter.

The Citizens continued their goal party in the second half.  It was Joao Cancelo's turn to celebrate after scoring a goal from outside the penalty box.

Next is Julian Alvarez who became a star.  In his first competitive debut, the 22-year-old Argentine striker scored a brace in the 65th and 87th minutes to seal City's six-goal streak.

Guardiola praised Alvarez's brilliant gait.  "He is new, coming from another continent. We see him training, and working hard every day. And it paid off today. We are all happy to see him," said Guardiola.

This victory patented City's position in second place in the standings with 13 points, two points adrift of Arsenal, who beat Aston Villa 2-1.

Meanwhile Forest dropped five places to tenth.
