The sport of taekwondo received a visit from the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports (Minister of Youth and Sports), Zainudin Amali on Thursday (28/4/2022).
The visit from Zainudin Amali was to review the preparations for the taekwondo sport ahead of the 2022 SEA Games .
It was explained that the taekwondo sport ahead of the SEA Games in Vietnam was undergoing various trials to finalize preparations.
Another preparation is that the taekwondo national training center itself has undergone a training camp (TC) to be precise at Hankuk International Taekwondo, Madrid, Spain.
TC itself has been carried out by the Indonesian taekwondo national team starting on April 5-28 2022.
Launching the Kemenpora , General Chairperson of the Indonesian Taekwondo Executive Board (PBTI) Lt. Gen. TNI (Ret.) HM Thamrin Marzuki explained that taekwondo athletes had participated in championships in Spain and Vietnam some time ago.
Even at that championship, Indonesian taekwondo athletes got surprising results.
"In our preparation, there are no problems, even surprising results can be carved by the athletes when participating in the championships in Spain and Vietnam last time," said Thamrin.
Thamrin also set a target for the taekwondo national team at the SEA Games to win two gold medals.
In order to get gold, taekwondo has sent 15 of the best athletes to Hanoi, Vietnam.
The departure of that many athletes was in accordance with the recommendations of the review team.

"I am optimistic that the athletes will excel at the 2021 Vietnam SEA Games," he said.
In accordance with the taekwondo chairman's report, Zainudin praised the slick results of the trials that had been carried out by the athletes.
Amali hopes that with the good preparation of the trial, it can also produce beautiful achievements at the 2022 SEA Games .
"I also received a report from the General Chair that several athletes had made preparations for try outs and participated in championships in other countries, and the results were also quite satisfactory," said Amali.
"So I want what I get during training outside can produce the best performance," he added.
Not to forget the message was also pinned to the athletes for the Olympics.
Amali conveyed the message that the highest target apart from the SEA Games and Asian Games is the Olympics.
So Amali tries to set a target so that he can also excel at the Olympics which will be held in France in 2024.
Even so, before this the athletes will focus on looking at the 2022 SEA Games in Vietnam.
The 2022 SEA Games will take place from 12-23 May 2022.
"I am optimistic that the athletes will excel at the 2021 Vietnam SEA Games," he said.
