The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will use eight stadiums , ranging from the most sophisticated to the largest.

Here is a list of stadiums for the world's greatest football party.

The year 2022 is greeted with joy by football fans around the world.

Because, this year is the year of the World Cup .

The 2022 World Cup will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022.

Qatar as the host of the 2022 World Cup has prepared eight venues to hold matches.

Eight of the venues for the 2022 World Cup Qatar are from stadiums new and some are being renovated and rebuilt.

1. Al Bayt Stadium (capacity 60,000)

Al Bayt Stadium located in Al Khor is the stadium second largest to be used at the 2022 World Cup .

Judging from the design and technology, Al Bayt is one of the stadiums most sophisticated in Qatar .

The design of the Al Bayt Stadium was inspired by the "bayt al sha'ar", which is the tent used by the nomadic communities in Qatar and the Arabian Gulf region.

Al Bayt Stadium has a retractable roof system. This makes Al Bayt the only stadium indoor at the 2022 World Cup .

In addition, Al Bayt Stadium is also equipped with an internal cooling system.

2. Stadion Al Janoub (40,000)

Al Janoub Stadium is located in the city of Al Wakrah which is about 21 km from Doha.

The stadium began construction in 2014 and was completed in 2019.

Al Janoub Stadium which has a capacity of 40,000 spectators was designed by Zaha Hadid.

The stadium's design was inspired by the Dhow, which is a traditional boat used by the local community.

3. Khalifa International Stadium (40,000)

 



Khalifa International Stadium or Khalifa International Stadium is one of four venues 2022 World Cup located in the capital Qatari , Doha.

The stadium was built in 1976 and renovated in 2005 and 2014-2017.

The last renovation was done to welcome the 2022 World Cup .

4. Ahmed bin Ali Stadium (44,740)

The stadium in the city of Al Rayyan which can accommodate 44,740 spectators was actually built in 2003.

However, to welcome the 2022 World Cup , the stadium old was demolished in 2015 and a new one was built in 2016.
 

Ahmed bin Ali Stadium was worked on by Pattern Design and Ramboll which was inspired by sand dunes and Islamic architecture.

The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium is clad in a multimedia screen that glows and changes color.

Enveloped in metal screens depicting patterns and motifs commonly found throughout architecture Qatari

5. Stadion Education City (45.350) 

 



Just like Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium or Education City Stadium is also located in the city of Al Rayyan.

The Education City Stadium is one of the stadiums new built specifically for the 2022 World Cup .

The stadium began construction in 2016 and officially opened in February 2020.

6. Stadium Al Thumama (40,000)

 



Al Thumama Stadium has a unique design. The venue for the 2022 World Cup in  Qatar is shaped like a gahfiya, which is a traditional woven cap or hat that is typically worn by all men in the Middle East.

The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. However, after the 2022 World Cup ends, the capacity of the Al Thumama Stadium will be reduced.

A total of 20,000 seats in the upper stands will be moved and replaced with a boutique hotel with a total of 60 rooms.

7. Stadium 974 (40,000)

 


The number "974" which is used as the name of the stadium in the city of Ras Abu Aboud is taken from the international dialing code of Qatar, which is +974.

In addition, the construction of stadium this was built using 974 pieces of modified used steel shipping containers.

 
Due to its container construction, Stadium 974 became the stadium first in history FIFA World Cup to be deconstructed or reconstructed.

8. Stadion Lusail Iconic (80.000) 

 



Lusail Iconic Stadium or Iconic Lusail Stadium is the venue for the 2022 World Cup  Qatar with the largest capacity of 80,000 spectators.

Construction of stadium this began on April 11, 2017 and finished April 2021. The Iconic Lusail Stadium then officially opened on November 23, 2021.

The stadium will be the venue for the opening and final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
