Not only inviting new actors and actresses such as Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, and Jack Quaid, this fifth film also connects itself with the story from the first Scream by inviting older actors; Marley Shelton, Courteney Cox, Skeet Ulrich, to Roger L. Jackson.
Being the first Scream film not to be directed by Wes Craven, Scream 5 is now being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett based on a script by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
