Pertamina Explanation
Regarding the news that the Pertalite price Rp 2,350 or to Rp 10,000 per liter, Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting said that Pertamina is currently still waiting for directions from the government.
"While we are still waiting for directions from the government because price determination is the authority of the regulator," he said, when contacted by Kompas.com , Friday (19/8/2022).
However, his party emphasized that for now the price of Pertalite is still Rp. 7,650.
"Until now the price of Pertalite is still Rp 7,650 as determined by the government," he said.
Signs of rising fuel prices
Previously, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that currently there has been no assignment to Pertamina to increase the price of Pertalite.
He said the government was still discussing reducing subsidies related to the increase in Pertalite prices .
"The plan for subsidy reduction is still being discussed, there is no decision yet. So it's from the Coordinating Ministry, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the Minister of Finance," said Erick Thohir, quoted from Kompas.com , Tuesday (16/8/2022).
He also said that basically the discussion on the Pertalite price increase did not involve the Ministry of SOEs.
However, if a decision has been made, Pertamina as a BUMN assigned as a distributor will be given an assignment to implement a price increase.

"So to this day I as the Minister of SOEs have not received such a decision, I'll just wait," he added.
Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that the plan to increase the price of Pertalite is still under internal government discussion.
"It's still being discussed (the increase in Pertalite prices), it is still being coordinated with Pak Airlangga (Coordinating Minister for the Economy)," he said, as quoted from the same page.
He said the decision to increase the Pertalite price was still waiting for the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) 191 of 2014 concerning the Supply, Distribution, and Retail Selling Price of BBM.
He hopes the revision of the presidential regulation can be completed this month.
"We have to change the Perpres first, hopefully (this month it will be completed) because we have to socialize it first," said Arifin.
