The Liga 1 2022-2023 competition officially starts today, Saturday, July 23, 2022. The director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Akhmad Hadian Lukita, said that this competition could be held at the planned time.

"League 1 is rolling according to the directions on time. It used to be known for a schedule that likes to change. Now is the time. Hopefully this can become a habit," said Akhmad Hadian Lukita during an online press conference, Saturday, July 23, 2022.

BRI is still the main sponsor of the League 1 competition. This state-owned bank has also become the main sponsor of League 1 for the second time in a row. BRI Deputy President Director, Catur Budi Harto, assessed that last season League 1 was well organized and had a good social impact.

"In order to support football in Indonesia. From an economic perspective, this competition is able to revive the national football economic chain. We hope that with this competition the economy will develop and MSMEs will be more advanced," said Catur.

Meanwhile, Indosiar is still the official broadcaster for Liga 1. According to the Programming Director of SCM, Harsiwi Achmad, this football show is able to attract the attention of the Indonesian people. Of the 306 matches, later Indosiar will broadcast 206 matches live, the rest will be broadcast via streaming.

"Last year the highest rating was 6.5 and our share reached 26 percent. That is during the Persija Jakarta vs Persib Bandung match. We believe this year will be able to exceed last year's rating and share," said Harsiwi.

PSSI General Chair, Mochamad Iriawan said, because it was still during the Covid-19 pandemic, to hold a competition one had to go through several stages. Such as having to get permission from the Ministry of Health, the Covid-19 Task Force and others.

"After that we had to go through two coordination meetings (Rakor), first with the Police and the ranks, then with the Minister of Youth and Sports. If everything is ok, the Police will give permission for crowds. For spectators in the stadium, it is adjusted to the PPKM level in the city local," said Iriawan.
