The presence of an ecosystem titled "EV Smart Mobility-Joint Project" is also to help revitalize the tourism industry sector in Indonesia through the development of environmentally friendly tourism. In addition, it is expected to provide support for Indonesia's position as the G20 presidency in 2022 in Bali.
Five automotive Brand Holder Agents (APM) consisting of Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, FUSO, Isuzu and Toyota have agreed to work together and strive to further popularize electrified vehicles in Indonesia. This is through the development of an electrified mobility ecosystem model in Bali.
In addition to supporting the government's efforts to accelerate carbon emission reductions, this step is believed to also expand the introduction and increasingly popularize electrified vehicles as one of the keys to mass mobility in the future.
The presence of an ecosystem titled " EV Smart Mobility-Joint Project" is also to help revitalize the tourism industry sector in Indonesia through the development of environmentally friendly tourism. In addition, it is expected to provide support for Indonesia's position as the G20 presidency in 2022 in Bali.
Automotive distributors work together to develop multipathways to expand electrification vehicle options to the public. It includes hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), battery electric vehicle (BEV), plug in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) so as to reduce carbon emissions without going through the charging process.
The multipath approach is believed to be able to accelerate the presence of environmentally friendly technologies that are easily accessible to the public. The goal is to be able to reduce emissions in accordance with the availability of renewable energy sources, the readiness of charging infrastructure, and the need for their use.
With this approach, all users can contribute to carbon emission reduction measures in their own way.
Therefore, the EV Smart Mobility–Joint Project which presents BEV and PHEV in its implementation is positioned as part of a joint initiative to open up opportunities for the use of electrified vehicles in Indonesia.
"Through EV Smart Mobility–Joint Project , we would like to affirm our shared commitment to support government policies in efforts to reduce carbon emissions by developing and popularizing environmentally friendly electric vehicles," said Susumu Matsuda as the project secretariat representing the 5 automotive APMs.
In the joint project , each APM will provide its flagship electric vehicle to form a line up in the passenger and commercial vehicle sector.
The provision of electric vehicles is necessary and aims to accelerate the introduction to the public. This is because the development of electric vehicles also requires pilot project activities and the availability of infrastructure, such as electric charging stations, to testing the ecosystem as a whole.
The passenger electrification vehicle line up will be used to support mobility in the Nusa Dua area and Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Meanwhile, the commercial line up will be used to support logistics and will further be considered for collaborating with local businesses in the Bali area.
"We hope EV Smart Mobility–Joint Project can support the government's efforts to provide transportation solutions that are more environmentally friendly and increase ecotourism, especially in Bali. Through the joint project, the community has the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and get to know more about the mobility ecosystem of electrified vehicles," said Matsuda.
The EV Smart Mobility–Joint Project is planned to be held in July 2022 along with various events in the context of the G20 meeting in Bali.
The joint initiative to present the EV Smart Mobility–Joint Project is also inseparable from the shared desire to increase bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Japan, including in the automotive industry,
That's what Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Indonesian President Joko Widodo said when the head of the Japanese government visited Indonesia at the end of April 2022.
