How to Install Windows 11 With a USB Flashdisk (Complete)


Windows 11 was released by Microsoft in 2021. This version of Windows is highly anticipated by users, because it comes with a very fresh .

For example, various new features were released in Windows 11. Such as the addition of a virtual desktop , the snap layout , Windows Hello, the new Windows Store, the dark mode , to allow us to install mobile .

Windows 11 also comes with a new look. With a more modern design, and some other changes in terms of UI. In addition, the Start button, which is usually located at the bottom left, in Windows 11 has been moved to the center.

Things to Prepare 

1. File ISO Windows 11

First you must have the Windows 11 ISO file first. This ISO file can be downloaded on the official Microsoft website. But to be practical, we have prepared a link that you can download.

2. USB Flashdisk

We need a flash drive to save the Windows 11 ISO file, you can use any type of empty USB flash drive. But make sure the storage capacity of the empty flash drive is 8GB.

3. Rufus application

Windows 11 ISO file when inserted into the flash must be made bootable . Here you have to use an additional application, namely Rufus . Please also download the application.

Things that must be considered 

1. Windows 11 Minimum Specifications

Here are the minimum specifications for Windows 11. Make sure your PC or laptop meets these specification criteria if you want to use Windows 11.

  • A modern 64-bit processor
  • 1Ghz clock speed 2 cores processor
  • 64GB drive
  • 4GB RAM
  • UEFI, Secure Book capable & TPM 2.0
  • 9-inch display with 366×768 pixels resolution
  • DirectX 12 compatible graphics / WDDM 2.x

2. Backup Important Data

Make sure you have backed up important data first. You can move important data to another computer or laptop. Can also save on storage media such as an external hard drive.

3. Windows 11 version

Windows 11 comes with various versions. Such as Home, Pro, Education and Workstation. The difference lies in the purpose of use and the features provided. Also you need to note, Windows 11 only supports 64-bit architecture.

The 64-bit architecture only supports 64-bit processors (as already stated in the minimum specification earlier). You can check the Windows bit to be sure.

How to Install Windows 11 With Flashdisk 

1. Make a Bootable Flashdisk

First, please connect the flash drive that you want to use to install Windows 11. Wait until it is read. Then if there is data on the flash drive, please also move the data.

If you have, you open the Rufus application. In Rufus, make sure your USB flash drive has been detected. Then press the Select and select the previously saved Windows 11 ISO file. 

Click Start to start the bootable creation. Later a warning notification will appear, that all data on the flash will be deleted. Click OK to confirm.

Wait for the bootable process for a few minutes. Generally about 10 to 20 minutes. When finished, Rufus will display the words Ready in the green column at the bottom.

2. Set the Boot Order in the BIOS

Next you need to set the boot priority . The goal is for the computer or laptop to read the flash drive so that it can enter the installation page. 


The trick, please restart the computer then press the button to enter the BIOS. This BIOS button can vary depending on the computer or laptop you are using. You can try the following buttons:

  • F12 / F2
  • Fn + F2
  • F10

settings boot order . Find and change the boot priority to flash. If so, save the BIOS settings and then restart again.

3. Boot Flashdisk 

If your boot settings are correct, then you will not enter the system, but a press any key . If you find the text, please press any key on the keyboard.

4. Set Installation Language

The next step, please select the installation language you want to use. If the language is set, continue the process by clicking Next . 

 


In the next window, select the Install Now . 

5. Activating Windows 11 

You will be directed to the Windows 11 activation . Windows 11 activation is done by entering the product key . If you don't have a product key , then you can select the I don't have a product key .

6. Choose Windows 11 Version 

You must choose the Windows 11 version. Education, Workstation, Home and Pro versions are available. For personal needs, you can choose the Home and Pro versions.

The purpose of using Home and Pro is the same. The difference is in the features, where the Home version is more limited. Therefore, we recommend that you choose the pro version. Click Next if you have.

7. Select the Installation Type 

First, please check license agreement (terms and policies) from Microsoft. Then select Next . 

Then please select the Custom Install to install Windows 11 manually. 

8. Organizing Partitions

On this page you have to set the partition that will be used to install Windows 11. The trick is to select one of the drives you want to make the installation drive, then select Delete . 

The drive will later change to unallocated space . You click New then make the unallocated space a drive to install Windows 11. Click Apply and click Next . 

9. Waiting for the Installation Process

The Windows 11 installation process varies in time. It depends on the specifications of the computer or laptop you are using. Please just wait until it's finished. 

If so, the installation will automatically restart, then go to the two initial loading pages. Here, please wait again until the process is complete. 

10. Setting the Keyboard Location and Layout

Now you are on the Windows 11 initial setup page. First set your location. Can choose Indonesia or leave the default (United States). Click Yes to confirm. 

Then for the keyboard settings, to match what we use every day, you set it to US (United States) . Click YES again to confirm. 

If there is a menu to add layout , you can just skip it. 

11. Sign in to Microsoft Account

Due to personal needs, please set the settings to Personal Use . But if you need Windows 11 for work / school needs, you can choose set up to work or school . 

Next, you must first sign in to your Microsoft account. Please fill in your Microsoft account email and password in the fields provided, then click Next . If you don't have one, you can create one in the Create One menu! . 

But if you don't want to use a Microsoft account, you can choose Sign in Options , then select Offline Account and confirm by selecting the Limited Experience . 

12. Personalize Windows

In the previous settings we selected the Offline Account option. Next there will be some settings for initial personalization. Please fill in the computer / user name first. 

Next you fill in the password as needed. If you don't want to lock Windows 11, you can leave the password field blank, then click Next . 

You will find a privacy page. Select the option you need. If so, click Next to confirm the selection. 

13. Wait for the Initial Loading Process 

Windows 11 will save all the settings along with the personalization you selected earlier. Then Windows 11 will continue to initial loading, to prepare the system. Please wait.

14. Windows 11 Ready to Use 

Now Windows 11 can be used on your computer or laptop. You can just continue to install the applications that are commonly used, along with the drivers.

You can also turn off Windows 11 updates if you don't need it.
